Lake Oswego has so much to offer dog people and their canine companions - options for shopping and even dining with your pets, locally-owned and run pet stores and grooming salons, and several doggy daycares. One of the things I love most about this town is that off-leash dog park options have actually increased in the time that I've lived here, which tells me I'm in a community of responsible and enthusiastic pet-lovers. Next time you and your pup(s) need to stretch your legs, check out these options and enjoy the great outdoors!
Hazelia Dog Park
This is one of the best-developed dog parks in town, located at Hazelia Field which also features a playground, drinking fountains and bathrooms, sports fields, and a great view of Luscher Farm. Bonus - it's actually got two fully-equipped dog parks, located at opposite sides of the parking lot.
One of Hazelia's dog parks is designated for active dogs and the other, for timid/shy ones. As you'd expect, you'll typically find larger dogs in the larger, active park and smaller ones in the still-quite-impressively-sized timid dog park, but that rule doesn't always hold.
Hazelia's fully fenced active dog park is huge and features tunnels, a trough for water play, a wash rack!, and covered seating for the humans.
Both of Hazelia's parks are fully enclosed and have double-gated entries and exits.
Our favorite perks are the working hoses in both parks for hot days, water play, or hosing down muddy dogs. The covered picnic tables are also amazing, given PNW weather.
McNary Dog Park
Small but might, this fully-fenced off-leash area is nestled between Becket and McNary Parkway. Its official address is 47 Becket St. - parking and access are easiest on Becket. The sign for the park was almost completely obscured as of Spring 2025 and the growth around the park is such that you could miss it if you didn't know it was there.
The park is no-frills but it's flat, grassy, and plenty big to get a good run in. It's got a double-doored entry and a playground right outside the off-leash area - super useful if you've got littles that need to get out of the house too.
Pilkington Dog Park
This is a personal favorite of ours as we're lucky enough to live close by. I used to watch my kids' soccer games on the field that's now the off-leash area and while I'll always be a soccer fan, I'm also thrilled to have such a beautiful spot to watch our dogs play!
Easy to find at 19043 Pilkington Rd., easy parking, double gated entry and exit, bag dispenser, all the normal perks although there is no water at the dog park itself so make sure to bring some if you plan to stay a while.
The park is enormous and fenced on all sides (but do watch out for gaps and missing boards if you have a Houdini).
River Grove Elementary is immediately adjacent to Pilkington Park and has a fabulous playground, in case the kids get bored of watching the dogs.

Waluga Dog Park
Another fantastic multi-purpose park located at 15775 Waluga Dr. The park has a playground, permanent fitness equipment, and a covered picnic area, all just outside the enclosed off-leash area.
The dog park is located at the back of West Waluga Park, which has a paved walking path around its perimeter.
The dog park itself is divided into a gravel area and a grass area. The Lake Oswego dog parks webpage lists the grass area as closed, but as of Spring 2025 it was open.
The fully-enclosed off leash area features double-gated entry, a water spigot, and even a real fire hydrant!
